SPEC CPU2000 Issues

This is a place where we shall be collecting descriptions (and solutions) to installation, build, and runtime problems encountered by people actually using the SPEC CPU2000 benchmark. If your issue is not amongst the known issues, please bring it to the attention of SPEC CPU2000 Support.

Addressed in CPU2000 V1.3:

If one of the items below is encountered, please obtain a copy of SPEC CPU2000 V1.3.

  • If you are having trouble building 253.perlbmk on Linux, please try adding the flag -DSPEC_CPU2000_GLIBC22 to the EXTRA_CFLAGS line in your CPU2000 config file.
  • The src.alt files for 176.gcc in CPU2000 v1.2, which eliminate the use of the cast as lvalue extension and allow 176.gcc to be built using GCC on 64-bit systems, are available for current licensees. Please contact the SPEC office for details on obtaining CPU2000 V1.3.
  • The src.alt files for 187.facerec in CPU2000 v1.2, which add code to check the allocation of array FTemp before calling SHAPE on it, are available for current licensees. Please contact the SPEC office for details on obtaining CPU2000 V1.3.
  • The src.alt files for 191.fma3d in CPU2000 v1.2, which address issues cleaning files during multi-copy rate runs on systems running Windows, are available for current licensees. Please contact the SPEC office for details on obtaining CPU2000 V1.3.
  • The src.alt files for 252.eon in CPU2000 v1.2, which will allow 252.eon to be built on systems where errno is not exported by default, where the system definition of fmax differs from the one in 252.eon, or where the compilation environment has removed legacy headers, are available for current licensees. Please contact the SPEC office for details on obtaining CPU2000 V1.3.
  • The src.alt files for 255.vortex in CPU2000 v1.2, which address issues with writing to closed filehandles, are available for current licensees. Please contact the SPEC office for details on obtaining CPU2000 V1.3.
  • If you see the following error while trying to build the tools on Linux, the glibc2 toolset mentioned below should resolve the problem:
    cpu2000/bin/specperl: error while loading shared libraries:
    libdb.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    Error re-homing the spec files

Approved Toolsets for V1.2

  • A linux-glibc2-ia32 toolset is available for current licensees of CPU2000 v1.2. Please contact the SPEC office for details on obtaining CPU2000 V1.3.
