The PRIMERGY BX920 S1 is a 2-socket blade server. The PRIMERGY SX940 S1 is a storage blade. Each of them requires a width of one blade slot in the PRIMERGY BX900 S1. In the measurement it was used for providing network file service utilizing the SAS RAID storage housed in the storage blade's chassis.

Memory Notes

The RAID controller's write cache is backed up with a battery backup unit able to retain the write cache for 72 hours in the event of a power failure.

Stable Storage

Stable write and commit operations are not acknowledged until after the RAID storage system has acknowledged that the related data stored at least in non-volatile RAM. When the RAID controller's battery backup unit is off-line, the system turns off the write cache and writes directly to disk before acknowledging any write operations.
