Other Notes

The server has 2 FC controllers. One to each FC switch. Each VA7410 has 2 controllers, with 1 FC
port from each controller attached to each switch, so that controller 1 is connected to switch 1,
and controller 2 is connected to switch 2. There are 3 VA7410s total. Each VA7410 has 42 disks
and 1024 MB NVRAM per controller, which is mirrored between the controllers. The VA7410s are using
RAID 0+1. Disk scrubbing is disabled. Each VA7410 has 2 LUNs. LUN 1 is striped across 21 disks.
LUN 2 is striped across the other 21 disks. Each of the 6 LUNs contained 1 file system. Each file
system was formatted with a 16kB Allocation size.
"File System Creation Ops" = /q /fs:ntfs /v: /a:16k /x
/q -- Performs a quick format.
/fs:ntfs -- Specifies the type of the file system (NTFS).
/v: -- Specifies the volume label. (Blank in this case)
/a:16k -- Sets the allocation unit size.
/x -- Forces the volume to dismount first if necessary.
"File System Config" = chkdsk /l:65536
/l:65536 -- Changes the log file size to the specified number of kilobytes.
Each File System had 1 NFS export that was shared with rw access, root allow, and anonymous
access=yes. Each NFS share used the NFSONLY option. A local hosts file was on the servers and
clients. HyperThreading disabled in BIOS. Interrupt Filter used to set interrupt affinity of NIC1
to CPU0 and NIC2 to CPU1.
