SERT testing on DC server powered by common supply in a rack
« on: August 25, 2020, 03:13:06 PM »
Please bear with me, I'm completely new to SERT and Lot 9 testing.
I was just handed the task of running SERT for Lot 9 on a server that gets DC power from a common rail driven by set of power supplies in a rack.

1) Do we measure the DC on the server?
A1: NO.  SERT does not do DC power at this time.

2) Do we have to measure all the AC going into the multiple supplies?
3) Can we use a stand-alone power supply or do we have to use the supplies mounted in the rack?

Any pointers to the information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Thank you for your interest in SPEC and our SERT suite.

1. correct
2. Yes, all AC power going into the SUT needs to be measured
3. The AC power supply that is part of the SUT needs to be used.
