SPEC Delivers Major Update to SPECaccel Benchmark Suite GAINESVILLE, Va., Nov. 9, 2023 — The Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC), the trusted global leader in computing benchmarks, today announced the availability of the SPECaccel 2023 benchmark suite, a major update to the SPEC ACCEL v1.4 benchmark. The SPECaccel 2023 benchmark suite measures the performance of key system components using computationally intensive parallel applications running under the OpenACC and OpenMP target offloading APIs.

2023-10-30 SPEC announced that EEMBC®, the 25-year-old Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium, has become SPEC’s new Embedded Group (SPEC EG). EEMBC is known for developing industry-standard benchmarks for measuring the performance and energy efficiency of embedded processor hardware and software used in autonomous driving, mobile imaging, the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile devices, and more. The addition of EEMBC broadens SPEC’s portfolio with more than 15 highly regarded benchmarks for embedded computers and enables both organizations to share workloads and infrastructure costs to allow for more investment in research and development.

2023-08-29 SPEC’s Call for nominations for the Kaivalya Dixit Distinguished Dissertation Award 2022. The program is open to dissertations that have been defended between October 2021 and September 2022. Deadline for submissions is October 21, 2022. SPEC Delivers a Major Update to the SPECapc for Creo 9 Performance Benchmark

The benchmark has undergone a significant transformation with three major upgrades since it first released for Creo 3, and we are particularly gratified with being able to work directly with PTC on this update. In addition to new test cases that exercise features added to Creo over the last few releases, we have significantly enhanced the benchmark’s interface to make it far more user-friendly.
