Joining SPEC

Membership in SPEC is open to any interested company or entity that is willing to commit to SPEC's standards.

SPEC is an umbrella organization that covers four groups, each with their own benchmark suites, rules and dues structure:

• Open Systems Group (OSG)
  Component- and system-level benchmarks in an UNIX / NT / VMS environment.
  Joining SPEC/OSG
  
  
• High Performance Group (HPG)
  Benchmarking in a numeric computing environment, with emphasis on high-performance numeric computing.
  Joining SPEC/HPG
  
  
• Graphics and Workstation Performance Group (GWPG)
  Benchmarks for measuring the performance of professional-level workstations and graphics subsystems.
  Joining SPEC/GWPG
  
  
• Research Group (RG)
  Established to promote innovative research on benchmarking methodologies and tools facilitating the development of benchmark suites and performance analysis frameworks for established and newly emerging technologies.
